Local scene: Building a house, supporting a home

Associates from North Shore Financial Group, an Office of MetLife recently enjoyed the rewarding experience of helping to build a home for a working mother of two youngsters. The team of 15 volunteers spent a day with Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk, working to construct walls at the home and presenting a check for a $2,500 grant from the MetLife Foundation Volunteer Project Fund. 
Volunteers were Kelly Dunne, Bob Christiansen, Troy Ingenito, Lou Alfano, Miguel Pagan, Rudy Schneider, Anthony Vlachos, Julie Beltran, Bill Hobbs, Lisa Pesce, Derek McCoy, Mike DeAmicis, Derrick Campbell, Michael Baptista and Fred Azzurro. Shown below left, Anthony Vlachos and Troy Ingenito hang drywall.
